Samsara – The Shaolin Legacy is a martial arts performance and a musical that has a touching storyline that illustrates the growth in strength and spirit of a child monk Tan Chung, in the Shaolin temple of Mt. Song who eventually becomes the Abbot of Shaolin Temple and takes on the responsibility of reinvigorating the Shaolin Temple and propagating the Shaolin culture.
The creative production crew consists of well-known Hong Kong director Clifton Ko, award-winning playwright Raymond To and music genius Kwong-Wing Chan. With an original music score and employing multimedia technology, the musical portrays the life of Shaolin novices in their journey of self-discovery and achievements in martial arts with a refreshing view on Chinese performing arts. The audience will witness Shaolin monks’ faith, discipline, respect and strength in their daily mental, physical and spiritual practice as well as inevitable temptation and challenges to their faith.
