STGCC – Singapore Toy, Game & Comic Convention 

Superheroes, supervillains and superfans unite! Comics, anime, manga, toys, collectibles, games and movies collide this August! Meet guests, get exclusives and see premieres when pop culture comes to Singapore.
The Singapore Toy, Game & Comic Convention (STGCC) combines the best of pop culture from East and West to Asia, uniting the worlds of comics, anime, toys, collectibles and games. It is the pre-eminent event in the Asian market that fits with the other shows in the Reed pop culture portfolio, including New York Comic Con (NYCC), the Chicago Comic & Entertainment Expo (C2E2), Star Wars Celebration and New York Anime Festival.


STGCC will reach out to a whole new world of fans in Asia and opens a vast market with exciting opportunities for companies to break into the Asian market and/or reinforce a growing presence. Fans will experience a showcase of pop culture's coolest and latest products, and be thrilled by personalities and characters from the worlds of superheroes, villains and realms of fantasy.

SPECIALS AT STGCC
Captain America #1 Variant

Marvel will, for the first time, be offering an STGCC-exclusive variant comic.  Limited to a run of 1,000 and priced at S$15, the STGCC Marvel booth will be offering fans and collectors a special Singaporean cover to Captain America #1 by Ed Brubaker and Steve McNiven.  The cover is drawn by regional artist Harvey Tolibao with colors by Chris Sotomayor.  It features an iconic image of Captain America in front of Singapore's emblematic Merlion.  The Captain America Merlion Variant is only available at STGCC and, again, has a strict run of 1,000, with only 500 being made available from the Marvel booth each day.

1) Time Attack Qualifying

  • (Clock Fast Timing to qualify for Finals with the fastest driver to win prizes from Tamiya in all categories)

2) KnockOut Finals

  • (To decide the Champion, 1st and 2nd Runners-Up for all categories)

1) STGCC Challenge (any Tamiya M4WD Chassis/Motors can be used)
2) M4 PRO (Only Tamiya M4WD PRO Chassis & Motors can be used)
3) M4 Junior (Only selected Tamiya M4WD PRO Chassis/Motors/Parts can be used)
4) M4 Large Diameter Wheel (any Tamiya M4WD Chassis/Motors can be used)
5) M4 Small Diameter Wheel (any Tamiya M4WD Chassis/Motors can be used)

Regulations
  • Prepare a valid ID with picture to register and get the M4 Race Pass at Stargek Booth (B26).
  • STGCC Challenge S$4.00 per 10 attempts with free 1pair Tamiya PowerChamp FD.
  • M4 PRO S$4.00 per 10 attempts with free 1pair Tamiya PowerChamp FD.
  • M4 Junior only for 14 years old and below with free registration.
  • M4 Large Diameter Wheel can only use wheel-tire set measuring at least 26mm.
    S$4.00 per 10 attempts with free 1pair Tamiya PowerChamp FD.
  • M4 Small Diameter Wheel can only use wheel-tire set measuring less than 26mm.
    S$4.00 per 10 attempts with free 1pair Tamiya PowerChamp FD.
  • Only Tamiya PowerChamp FD batteries can be used during the official race.

Cosplay Finalists

Cosplay Judges

Judging Criteria
  • There are two rounds of judging.
  • Only the finalists selected from the Final Screening Round will qualify to participate in the Finals on 21 August at STGCC’s main stage.
  • Judging criteria for the first screening:
    • The Accuracy of the Cosplay (Costume, Wigs, Make up, etc)
    • The Character (Being in-character, Face expression, Pose, etc)
    • The Props (If any, weapon, book, leek, etc)
  • Judging criteria for the final round:
    • Costume: Maximum 25 marks
      The accuracy and quality of the costume, handheld props, wig, make up and other contributing factors.
    • Posing & Presentation: Maximum 20 marks
      Poses presented during the stage time. This will be gauge how well you are able to draw out the character through your poses.
    • Transformation: Maximum 10 marks
      This will be judged by comparing your normal looks to judge the process and effort in order to look like your cosplayed character (expression, appearances, facial features, body movement, etc)
    • Judge’s bonus: Maximum 10 marks
      It will be granted by the judges with their own personal opinions and experiences in the field and industry.
    • Handmade costume bonus: +5 marks on top of total score
      Bonus points for contestants who participate with costumes made by themselves to celebrate their effort,
      and also for fairness to all contestants.
